4 years since Natasha's Inquest ended

Four years ago today, Natasha's week-long inquest came to an end. When I close my eyes, I can see it, smell it and feel it like it was yesterday. Each day started with dread and ended in pain. I would go home and lie down in a dark room, my senses on fire.

I am reminded how since then, we have attended too many inquests from allergy deaths around the country, mostly of children, teens and young adults and last week, Celia Marsh's inquest, a mother of 5 girls.

Deaths from anaphylaxis are relatively rare but anaphylaxis is not rare. This is the juxtaposition. Fear of the worst possible outcomes lies in the hearts of every allergic family. Yet too many individuals and families have to fight for timely diagnosis, medicines, support and treatment.

We must never become battle weary, we have to keep moving forward. We have to for our children and for our loved ones because one more inquest is one too many.
